Coverage limit is the maximum amount defined in a Health plan for which you can use each Category of Services during your Membership period (ie one year after subscribing).

Each time you use a medical care through us, your Coverage limit will be reduced in the amount equivalent to the Service Fee for the respective Service you used.

Primary healthcare including online chat and video consultations, appointments with general doctors, medical tests, analyses and procedures. Similar services as expected from a family doctor.

Appointments with specialist doctors, such as dermatologist, ear-nose-throat doctor, gynaecologist, etc., including medical tests, analyses and procedures ordered by these specialist doctors. You can get to specialist doctors through private clinics, without long waiting times as may be the case in public healthcare system. Salu doctor’s referral is required.

Mental health services includes psychologist’s sessions, psychiatrist’s appointments, mental health assessments and related tests & analyses. Salu doctor’s referral is required.

Hospital care & operations includes hospital room costs; operations and hospital treatment; childbirth; and analyses and examinations required in the hospital. Salu doctor’s referral is required.

You can get emergency care for acute health issues, such as ambulance and emergency room care.

Regular health check-ups & preventive exams include (prophylactic) medical examinations you can use even when you feel well. These are designed to keep you healthy.

For example, these check-ups and exams include full body examinations, mental health audits with psychologists’ sessions, sexual health screening, lactose or gluten intolerance tests, food sensitivity tests (body sensitivity and reaction to 176 food products), dermatologist regular checkup, gynaecologist regular checkup, dentist regular checkup, optometrist regular checkup, mammography screening, barotherapy, cryotherapy, EMS training sessions, and massage.

Dental care includes dentist consultation, diagnostics, treatment, and emergency dental treatment. Salu doctor’s referral is required.

Rehabilitation services include costs related to rehabilitation (physiotherapy, treatment massage, occupational therapy, chiropractic treatment). Salu doctor’s referral is required.

Vaccination includes vaccination-related consultation and vaccination costs.

Critical illnesses include epilepsy, heart attack, loss of speech, Parkinson’s disease, etc. The list of covered critical illnesses is provided under the detailed overview of the package (see below). Salu doctor’s referral is required.

This includes treatment of health issues occurred or existing prior to Salu subscription. For example, you had a health issue, chronic disease, etc. prior to subscribing to Salu and you wish to get medical care / treatment for that – this coverage limit covers these services. Salu doctor’s referral is required.

This is only included in the Premium plan.

Coverage limit is the maximum amount defined in a Health plan for which you can use each Category of Services during your Membership period (a year after subscribing).

Each time you use a medical care through us, your Coverage limit will be reduced in the amount equivalent to the Service Fee for the respective Service you used.

Your share of the cost for certain services is a percentage you need to pay within the coverage limit. A 0% share means no payment required.

Example: If your dental care coverage limit is €300 and your cost share is 35%, for a €200 dental bill, you pay €70, and we cover €130 (assuming you have at least €200 of unused coverage).

If service costs exceed your coverage limit, you will pay 100% of the amount that goes over the limit.

Who is eligible for Salu health coverage?

Anyone in Estonia can benefit from our health coverage plans as either primary or supplemental coverage for their health needs. It can be used both as your only health coverage for your health needs in Estonia or in addition to your existing health insurance.

Does Salu offer private health insurance?

Salu is a private clinic offering subscription-base healthcare services. We do not provide, intermediate nor distribute insurance services.

Salu offers a full health coverage that includes general and specialized medical care, dental services, analyses, and procedures—everything you need to get and stay healthy.

 

Do I need to have Estonian citizenship or an identification code to obtain the Salu health coverage plan?

No, anyone with an identity document can obtain the Salu health coverage.

Do I have to pay the entire amount for the health plan at once?

No, you will pay monthly subscription fee (Membership fee).

If I choose the Salu health plan, do I have to pay an additional monthly fee for Salu services?

The full health coverage and the monthly fee includes Salu’s services. Online services come with no extra cost, for in-person appointments you need to pay the standard co-payment (20% of medical bill).

Is there a commitment period for the health coverage?

The health coverage plans are issued for a period of 12 months. This duration ensures that you receive continuous coverage and allows you to fully benefit from the comprehensive healthcare services throughout the year.
